چکیده

Building a good simulation model can be a lot of work. We need to specify and model the system to be simulated, implement the model, collect data on the corresponding real system (if any), verify and validate the simulation system and run the simulation. In order to test different ideas, to learn about the system behavior in new situations and to make efficient decisions, decision makers need ways to explore the simulation outputs easily and rapidly. Geosimulation users need tools to analyse the spatial output data. In this paper we present an approach which combines spatial on-line analytical processing (SOLAP) techniques with multiagent geosimulation techniques in order to improve the exploration of spatial and non-spatial data resulting from geosimulations. As an example, we present the application of our approach to the simulation of the shopping behavior of customers in a shopping mall.

2D-3D MultiAgent GeoSimulation with Knowledge-Based Agents of Customers' Shopping Behavior in a Shopping Mall

In this paper we present a simulation prototype of the customers’ shopping behavior in a mall using a knowledge-based multiagent geosimulation approach. The shopping behavior in a shopping mall is performed in a geographic environment (a shopping mall) and is influenced by several shopper’s characteristics (internal factors) and factors which are related to the shopping mall (external or situat...

SIGSPATIAL: G: Computational Steering for Geosimulations

Geosimulations using computer simulation models provide researchers an effective way to study complex geographic phenomena and their outcomes. These simulations allow for scenario based exploration by capturing spatial and temporal relationships between various geographic processes in a region. However, current approaches to geosimulation limit manipulating model input and exploring alternative...

A Multi-Disciplinary Strategy for Indentifying Affective Usability Aspects in Educational Geosimulation Systems

In this article we propose a multi-disciplinary strategy for identifying affective usability design aspects in educational geosimulation systems. It is based on the association of these aspects with an architecture that defines the basic components of a geosimulation system as well as the learning strategies used in this context. Our goal is to provide design strategies that might elicit positi...

Forecast: Geosimulation will infiltrate mainstream modeling and geoprocessing on the Web

Geosimulation is a novel approach to model-building and application in the geographical sciences and geocomputing. It is predominantly focused on generation of methods and tools for constructing very realistic and extensible models of complex dynamic geographic processes. It offers distinct advantages over conventional approaches in spatial modeling, a field that has been developed for the last...

MAGS Project: Multi-agent GeoSimulation and Crowd Simulation

Geosimulation aims at modeling systems at the scale of individuals and entity-level units of the built environment and provides a new way to simulate how geographic spaces can be used by their future users, particularly in urban environments. In the MAGS Project we are developing a generic software platform for the creation of Multi-Agent Geo-Simulations involving several thousand agents intera...
